Packing Saga 2: Socks and Sandals

Packing footwear is so difficult! It’s really hard to find a shoe that is comfortable, but also easily to coordinate with multiple outfits! And for a 4 month trip with limited space and weight limits, I want to be practical.

I firmly believe that with the right footwear one can rule the world.

My trip will be spanning seasons, as Portugal and Spain will be in winter, South Africa will be entering summer and Croatia will be creeping into spring. It was really hard to figure out what I wanted to take and I’ve finally settled on 4 pairs of shoes.

  • Brown booties – for when it rains
  • Black runners – for working out and hiking
  • White tennis shoes – for day to day
  • Tan flats – for dressing up

I love that I covered different colours and different terrain / weather and with all but the booties having memory foam, I know I’ll be super comfortable too. This probably isn’t a popular opinion, but I also love wearing socks, I prefer to have my feet covered! As for sandals, I feel if I really need them, flip flops should be easy to get.

This should cover all my bases, and all my toes!
