It’s crazy to think that we’ve entered a new decade, and that I did it in a different country, on a different continent away from all my family and friends. And it was absolutely fantastic!
My night started with a housemates cheers, where I realized I missed the memo on wearing black. This was actually the first time that we were all in the unit at the same time! Other than looking oddly like a bride going on her bachelorette, it was great to have this moment to chit chat before the chaos that is a new years celebration.
After dividing into Ubers, we made it to Cervejaria Real Fábrica for a traditional Portuguese meal in a restaurant that used to be a silk factory 300 years ago. After dinner, we made the trek to Praça do Comércio, Lisbon’s main square, to watch fireworks and celebrate with a cup of champaign! This was followed by more fun on the infamous Pink Street at the 4 Caravelas bar.
It’s been a very long time since I’ve been really out for New Years Eve and it was so much fun! This year is going to be a great year, I know it!
