Lockdown Day 2

Transition Day

Today would’ve been what we Remotes call Transition Day, the day we depart from the current country to the next one on our itinerary. Pre Covide-19, this would’ve meant Croatia, now it meant moving from our RY accommodations to an AirBnB. It was slightly nerve wracking getting ready to leave, as we didn’t know if changing accommodations would fall under an essential service and if we were stopped, it would be the discretion of the officer to decide if our reason was good enough. When I finally got into one of the few Ubers still operating and arrived to my new home for the next month, I felt I could breathe a little better.

A ship, riding on a ray of sunlight below a cloudy sky.

This new accommodation is by the water, the silence of the city is helped by the distant crashing of waves. It’s silly to say that there’s no sound of life, but it almost feels that way. The streets are bare, and I’m ever so grateful for those waves. Tomorrow will be my first full day here, and learning what the new day to day will be.
