A Day of Creativity
While prepping for a 21 day lockdown (which many of us think will be extended), I grabbed a pad of lined paper, pencil crayons and scissors. I didn’t know what I would do with these items, but knew that I would be using them as a creative outlet, and the day came sooner than I thought it would.
March 30, is the birthday of my housemate Ishita. Pre-Covid, she had joked about a Bollywood themed birthday and now, stuck in a house, I wanted a way to try to make that happen. It was getting back to basics, playing and being a kid again. It’s funny how happy I was to put down my electronics and do something with my hands.

It probably sounds trite, but it was nice to just have the simplicity of a single goal to fold, cut and colour paper flowers. 31 of them to be exact. I hope we can make the best of it. These would’ve been easier with coloured paper, but I feel like I appreciated that we had to add our own colours because it meant it took up more time. I’m also realizing 3 days in and I haven’t Netflixed at all, which I’m kind of proud of! Small victories?
