Learning to Slow Down
Apr. 4 – It was a lazy day spent working on a 1000 piece puzzle of a water hole from the Museum of Natural History. Most of it is shades of brown, so it’s definitely a test in patience! But it was also interesting to notice that I still haven’t quite learned to slow down and take everything in.
There were instances where I had two blocks of puzzle pieces that I’ve put together sitting right next to each other, that I didn’t notice actually connected. I would spend ages looking for the piece that should connect only to have someone else connect the two blocks that were literally right next to each other.

It’s funny how easy it is for someone to see the missing piece in an instant, when you can’t see it even when it’s literally right in front of you! I was always on the go and trying to do 10 things at once, even now I’m still trying to do that. I have a coursera course, a mastermind class, daily meditation and blogging, a book, a puzzle and my actual work that I’ve got on my to do list. Even as everything slows and comes to a stop, I can’t bring myself to just slow down and chill out.
I’ve learned to handle bad news better and not catastrophize, but learning to relax and slow down is still a struggle.
