Easter in Isolation
Apr. 12 – I can’t get over how lucky I am to be in isolation with 5 other people. As an introvert I don’t mind being on my own, but I do live in my head a lot, and sometimes it can be a dark place. I’m so grateful to have others around me that bring me joy.
I woke up to the sweetest surprise in front of my door! And it was not only a surprise for me, but for Darby as well! As a house, we decided to have a nice easter dinner and I had plans to create some easter eggs out of rice krispies, but I wasn’t expecting a whole easter basket full of treats! It was just such a great surprise!
I’m not sure what I thought our Easter in isolation would be like, but our whole day surpassed what I thought the best case scenario would be! After our surprise baskets, Jen made us biscuits for breakfast, Chanelle and I created woven baskets for everyone (this was actually a very trying test on my patience), then we made the rice treats, which was followed by an amazing dinner.
I can’t get over how lucky I am! I used to have this really bad habit of catastrophizing everything! Everything would come with a worst case scenario, and now being in this situation, it’s really forced me to put things in perspective and be so much more mindful of my thoughts and what I’m grateful for. For a day, it didn’t feel like anything was wrong, and we were just celebrating Easter at home.
