Finding Some Normalcy
Apr. 13 – We had a movie night last night to watch Grease and sing along. It was fun and nostalgic, and made even better because Ish had never seen the movie before and her expressions were just priceless when we broke into song.
It was nice to do something as normal as rewatch a classic movie. Also, very strange to rewatch it as an adult and listen to the lyrics much more closely and understand some of the innuendos a little better. It was a little surprising and very funny how little you catch when you’re a kid.
It’s so nostalgic to watch this again. This movie came out in 1977, almost 50 years ago! And the last time I watched this, was probably in high school or early university. That also feels like it was 50 years ago… A distant past, when walks and socializing with people outside your home was a thing. I wonder what a movie about this time will look like when someone watches it 50 years from now.
